Sarkodie – Deja Vu Ft. KiDi: A Seamless Blend of Highlife

Sarkodie (often hailed as The Highest) has a proven track record of creating timeless collaborations with vocalists, and “Deja Vu” is no exception. Teaming up with afrobeat’s superstar KiDi, the chemistry between both artists feels completely effortless.

KiDi sets the mood instantly with a soul-stirring chorus. His signature modern Highlife/Afrobeats cadence brings warmth and nostalgia, capturing the literal feeling of Deja Vu that uncanny sensation of having experienced a moment before.

As expected, Sarkodie brings sharp delivery, effortlessly switching between Twi and English. His verses balance romance, reflection, and swagger, demonstrating why his pen game remains unmatched in African hip-hop.

The production on “Deja Vu” strikes a fine balance between mid-tempo Afrobeats and classic Highlife rhythms. Rich basslines, subtle guitar licks, and lush synths provide the perfect canvas for KiDi’s smooth vocals and Sarkodie’s rhythmic rap cadence. It’s laid-back yet vibrant ideal for late-night drives, lounge playlists, or romantic evenings.

“Deja Vu” is a stellar addition to both Sarkodie’s and KiDi’s discographies. It reinforces Sarkodie’s ability to evolve while remaining rooted in his signature sound, and showcases KiDi as one of West Africa’s finest vocal talents.
